Cleveland Biosensors embarked in November 2003 on the development of a portable high-precision biosensor instrument - the Biofiniti® diagnostics platform.

Prototypes were completed in 2005. High-sensitivity tests were demonstrated to industrial markets in 2006 and several international collaborations and feasibility studies were conducted in 2007. These demonstrated the merit of the Biofiniti® system for near-patient testing in the healthcare sector.

Cleveland Biosensors commenced sales of Biofiniti® tests in March 2008 to the industrial / nutraceutical sector, and started supplying Developer Kits to strategic partners wishing to convert laboratory assays to Point-of-Care settings.

Drawing on the in-market experience for these early products, Cleveland Biosensors is now focused on the development of a second-generation instrument targeting near-patient Point-of-Care settings. Clinical trials are planned to commence in early 2009.
